Disaster!

This weekend was a disaster in terms of my diet... it all started Friday when I decided to indulge in some noodles and an egg roll and it all went downhill from there... the rest of the weekend was a blurr of cookies, chocolates, cake, rice, lasagna... I could go on put I'd like to spare myself complete humiliation and shame.

Anyway, my motto now is: Today is a new day! Meaning I won't get discouraged! I'm gonna try again. Hopefully this time my will power will be stronger.

How do you guys cope on the weekend when there are parties and social events?

  1. Weekends are always tough! I have the exact same struggle. I try to eat before I go out and to be completely honest... I try to not go out so I'm not tempted!! I did break it Saturday night which I was really upset about, but I was super good Sunday! It's always tough when go out because you get so tempted when everyone around you is eating. And I've learned, once you break your diet for something small, you feel like its okay to indulge since its already broken.. but it's not!!! You always tell yourself "well I already messed up my diet so I might as well".. I do this all the time and that's when I end up binging! Maybe we binge because we're too strict, we feel like it's all or nothing.. when really there can be some. We need to find alternatives so we don't feel deprived. I know you've been using fruit as a "sugar" substitute, but its a different type of sweet.. Try the sugar-free syrup ideas.. If you don't drink coffee get a skinny caramel or vanilla latte!! There are tons of sugar-free, low-cal/fat alternatives these days...

  2. I completely agree Sandra! I definitelty take on this all or nothing mentality when it comes to food. I don't think it's realistic or healthy. I do drink the sugar free stuff as well (although i try to limit my intake of sweetened coffees). I think we should focus more energy on having a more optimistic view of how we eat and not let one slip up snowball into a day of binging (which is what I ALWAYS do).

Thanks for the helpful comment :)
