I was able to stay away from the processed sugar but I must say the cravings are starting to be more powerful today. I just ate plain organic yogurt with honey, a banana and some grapes to try and wean this craving to no avail every time i think of chocolate my mouth literally starts watering (it's kinda embarrassing).
Yesterday I had vanilla field berry oatmeal
Banana cream coffee with fat free milk and artificial sweeteners
Macintosh Apple
Organic plain yogurt with honey
Grapes
A banana
Chicken shawermas with "garden salad" it was a very Arab garden salad with lots of oil and pickles lol and some tahina
at night after coming back from the play rehearsal I wasn't particularly hungry but because my boyfriend was I got food for myself too (I know shameful right). I ate chicken (not breaded) and broccoli from spring rolls express so it wasn't too too bad but considering all the oil and fat that was probably used to cook it lolI'm actually terrified to blog about what I ate today! Let's just say I totally ruined everything I have been doing in the last few days :( but tomorrow is a new day and I'm determined to beat this!
Thanks for reading my blog everyone. Please comment and share so that others can join as well!
Peace in the middle east! (for real! woohoo!)
Dear Mimi,
ReplyDeleteI am starting a diet aswell. It's been 5 strong days. I initially started on last thursday however had to break it due to a surprise event. I also enjoy chocolate. I have a routine where right after I eat dinner, I NEED chocolate.. for some reason my craving is not sugar but specifically chocolate!
My diet includes cutting out sugar... ALL sugar (temporarily until I can slowly reincorporate it into my diet).. I've also decided to cut down on fatty protein, like red meats and even dark chicken meat. I think that's the most difficult. I don't mind eating chicken, and its hard enough to eat it everyday... let alone it be chicken breast, I've never ever been a fan of white meat. So this is what my diet consists of lately
Breakfast: Eggs with mushrooms or chicken (whatever is at home)
Coffee with hazelnut cream (this makes me feel like i'm getting something close to chocolate w/o taking in too much sugar.. its about 5 gm of carbs/tbl)
Lunch: A small piece chicken or tuna with some green vegetables...
Snack: If i'm out i'll buy a side order of vegetables from any chinese or grill fast food restaurant.. I know they cook it in crap... but its the only healthy alternative i'm finding. Even if you get a salad these days they have all these heavy things like croutons, cheese and processed meats. If i'm at home i'll eat some lettuce with any chicken or tuna I can find.
Dinner: My dinner the last 5 days has always consisted of stir fry. I have an issue where I hate cold food so I make my own stir fry with broccoli and mushrooms.. I cook with Olive oil, garlic powder, black pepper and sometimes a touch of soy. If there's chicken at home, then I'll eat that also... if not I pack on the stir fry... and believe it or not. I'm FULL.
Now here's the bad part... right after dinner I NEED something sweet. So I go to starbucks and get a Bold coffee with sugar-free hazelnut (SO GOOD)... It's now becoming a routine to have 2 cups of coffee a day, but I need the sweet, yet sugar-free taste. I'm also chewing sugar-free cinnamon gum whenever I get a sweets craving.. it really helps even though I never thought it would and never been a fan of cinnamon.
If I ever get hungry between I always try to eat some veggies.. the last thing I want to do is starve because i'll most likely binge.
It's only been 4 days and already 5-6 of my friends have told me I lost weight w/o knowing I'm following a diet! I think it's also very important to note that i'm drinking a crap load of water.... way more than 8 cups.
Wow!! That's amazing! I don't know if I have the will power to go that hard on my diet. Keep it up! I'll try the gum thing, I think that might help with my sugar craving. I also like the stir fry idea. Do you usually have only veggies for dinner?
ReplyDeleteUnless we have chicken in the house or shrimps.. yes! And I don't feel that I'm only eating veggies because it tastes so good!
